Ronnie Stanley, Ravens Agree To Five-Year, $98.75M Extension

Oct 30, 2020 11:28 AM

The Baltimore Ravens and Ronnie Stanley have agreed to a five-year, $98.75 million extension.

The deal only trails the $22 million per season average Laremy Tunsil signed with the Houston Texans.

The extension keeps Stanley protecting Lamar Jackson's blind side through the 2025 season.

"Ronnie is the mainstay on our offensive line," Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta said. "He's a shutdown left tackle who excels on the field and in our community. This is just the beginning for Ronnie, and we could not be happier for him and his family."

Through seven weeks this season, Stanley has a pass-block win rate of 96.8%, the highest among qualified offensive tackles.

Seahawks Decided Not To Pursue Antonio Brown After Due Diligence

Oct 29, 2020 11:22 AM

The Seattle Seahawks decided not to pursue Antonio Brown after performing their due diligence on him.

Brown had contentious exits from the Pittsburgh Steelers and Las Vegas Raiders. Brown also was suspended eight games for multiple Personal Conduct Policy violations. He faces further potential discipline for a pending civil lawsuit alleging sexual assault, based on the evidence developed.

The Seahawks may have acknowledged interest in Brown simply to placate Russell Wilson, who had pushed for them to sign him.

Antonio Brown's Contract With Bucs Maxes Out At $2.5M

Oct 25, 2020 1:14 PM

Antonio Brown can make up to $2.5 million with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this season.

Brown's deal will contain $1 million in base salary and roster bonuses, along with $750,000 if the Buccaneers win the Super Bowl and he also has three $250,000 incentives for receptions, yards and touchdowns. For Brown's individual incentives to trigger, the Buccaneers must also make the playoffs.

Brown still has to pass COVID-19 protocols before he can join the team but is likely to make his Buccaneers debut in Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints on Nov. 8.

The deal reunites Brown with quarterback Tom Brady and could help a team that has been banged up at wide receiver.

Russell Wilson: Antonio Brown Has Taken Right Steps, 'Been Humbled'

Oct 23, 2020 4:19 PM

Russell Wilson believes Antonio Brown deserves another chance in the NFL and he wants it to be with the Seattle Seahawks.

"I think Antonio definitely has taken those steps [in the right direction], and like I said, nobody's perfect," Wilson said. "From the conversations I've had with him, he's really been remorseful and he's been humbled along the way. Like I said, I pray that he can continue to grow, just like anybody."

Wilson has lobbied for the Seahawks to sign Brown. The wide receiver's suspension is eligible to end after Week 8.

The quarterback said he has gotten to know Brown over the past four or five years.

"I think the reality about Antonio is he is one of the best players to play this game obviously," Wilson said. "I think that he has always been a special player in terms of [on] the field. The reality with Antonio is, he's had some tough moments in his life, especially as of late. I think he's gone through a lot of things he wishes he could take back and do, and just not say, whatever it might be. But I think he is a special player, for sure. I don't know what's going to happen with him or not. I don't know how serious it is us getting him or not. But I do know that obviously he can play some football. I think that's the thing. I've developed a personal relationship with him, and not everybody is perfect. And I think that's the reality, none of us are. So hopefully he gets to play football again."
